At the invitation of Scientific Research Innovation Society of Applied Statistics, General Party Branch Secretary of school of statistics associate professor Mao Xiaobing held a lecture of “Decision theory and method” on September 25th, 2014. 
     Professor Mao Xiaobing suggested that learning new model and new method constantly, theoretical innovation and apply innovation constantly was the short-term goals for every graduate students during study days. As the senior professor of management decision, he introduced many classical model of management decision in simple language to graduate students. And he introduced some examples in daily life to enhance student’s understanding of the model. At last, professor Mao Xiaobing insisted that the graduate students not only learned the knowledge well from the book, but also mastered applied method of math model. And the students should do theoretical innovation and apply innovation constantly, students can find the beauty of statistics and enrich the school culture in this way. 
      The lecture of associate professor Mao Xiaobing drew a satisfactory full stop in the applause of the students. This speech expanded the vision of students and made them develop an interest in a new field. Trough this speech, the students benefited a lot.
