Overview: Survey sampling is one of the traditional methods in statistics for obtaining information about a population. Nowadays, new technologies have made it increasingly possible to obtain huge amounts of information that, sometimes, there is too much information than one can normally handle. This is the so-called Big Data problem. Can traditional survey statistics handle the challenge of Big Data? if not, how do we incorporate with the challenges of Big Data from surveys? Can survey methodology help to tackle Big Data problems? The Workshop provides an international forum to address such challenging issues as these. Speakers of the Workshop include world-renowned statisticians working on survey statistics and Big Data problems as well as dynamic younger researchers in the fields.
